Synthetic fibers are made from petroleum or coal. In addition, there are also semi-synthetic fibers based on natural raw materials, produced chemically.
The advantages of these fibers are their durability and ease of care. When it comes to wearing comfort and environmental compatibility, synthetic fibers are much worse than organic ones. Moisture is not or hardly transported and therefore the skin sweats quite quickly and bacterial odors arise.
Semisynthetic fibers have the advantage of being biodegradable and recyclable. Also, thanks to moisture transport, they are more comfortable to wear on skin.
- easy-care and robust
- biodegradable and recyclable semi-synthetic fibers
Polyamide, polyester and polyacrylic belong to the synthetic fibers. Viscose and modal belong to the semisynthetic fibers.
Due to the easy-care of synthetic fibers, wool with a synthetic blend is suitable for clothing that needs to be cleaned frequently. A good alternative is always cotton or gently produced semi-synthetic such as lyocell (from eucalyptus).
Basically we recommend natural materials because of the advantages that can not be surpassed.
